India's Tripura poised to export power
A 730 mw power project in Tripura is expected to help reduce the power crisis issues in India's north-eastern states.
With two new mega power projects coming up in Tripura, the state is expected to lead a crucial role in generation and supply of power not only to its neighbouring north-eastern states but also to Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar.
Tripura is going to be the power exporter to its neighbouring states and countries", said Jitendra Choudhury, minister for department of industry and commerce, Government of Tripura at 'ICC National Conference in Oil and Gas'.
Choudhury added that Tripura is richly endowed with huge reserves of natural gas, of which a significant amount is still untapped and unexplored.
