Bangladesh to set up 50 power sub-stations
The government of Bangladesh is planning to set up 50 new power sub-stations in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Barishal division.
The Power Division prepared the proposal on July 31 in this regard to send it to the cabinet committee on purchase, which is expected to be okayed in its next meeting soon.
The timeframe of the project, approved by ECNEC earlier, is July 2010 to June 2015 and its estimated cost is Tk 326.6396 core.
Under the project, a 2,321-kilometre new power line will be installed, the existing power line in an area of 2,703 kilometres be renovated and 30 existing sub-stations be upgraded.
The project will be implemented in cooperation with Japan International Co-operation Agency.
