First 5 phases of Zhongwei Xiangshan wind project synchronized to grid

First 5 phases of Zhongwei Xiangshan wind project synchronized to grid

The 150 wind turbines of the first five phases of Zhongwei Xiangshan Wind Power Projec were all synchronized to the grid.

This happened after over a year’s painstaking efforts undertaken by CPI Ningxia Energy & Aluminium.

More than 40GWh electricity has been produced, and CPI Ningxia Energy & Aluminium’s goal to develop new energy industries with high speed, good quality and large benefit has been realized.

Zhongwei Xiangshan Wind Power Project is planned as a 1000MW new energy power generation base featuring wind-PV complementarity. Altogether 175 wind turbines will be installed from Phase I to Phase VI.

Phase I started construction on 6 July 2011 and was synchronized for power generation on 22 June 2011, when a 330KV step-up substation and a 45.05km 330KV transmission line were completed at the same time. Phase II to V also went well and were successfully synchronized in succession, and the 4-month schedule for Phase IV and V created a record of wind power construction in Ningxia Autonomous Region.

After Zhongwei Xiangshan Wind Farm Phase I to V are completed and synchronized, CPI Ningxia Energy & Aluminium will provide over 400GWh green electricity for users through Ningxia grid. Compared with thermal power, that will save about 165,000 ton standard coal and reduce 495,000 ton CO2 emission and 22.315 million ton dust emission per year.
