Vietnam needs $959M for urgent electricity projects

The Electricity of Vietnam has informed Deputy Premier Hoang Trung Hai that it needs US$959 million capital for urgent electricity projects.


Among those projects that needs repairs and upgrade are O Mon I power plants, power station 2, Vinh Tan 2, Duyen Hai 1,3; 220kV network from Dak Nong to Binh Long; and 500kV network from Pleiku to Cau Bong.

Hoang told EVN to actively work with the State Bank of Vietnam as well as credit institutions to arrange funds for these projects. The government agrees with some favorable mechanism for EVN to borrow funds such as loan warranttee, project evaluation, foreign currency loans and mortgage loans.
