AFRY tapped for 191MW India hydropower project

Project is expected to be completed in 2032.

AFRY has won a contract from Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (HPPCL) to provide design, project management and construction supervision services for the 191MW Thana Plaun Hydropower Project in Himachal Pradesh, India.

The project, located on the Beas River in Mandi district, will support Himachal Pradesh’s renewable energy expansion and contribute to India’s long-term energy transition.

AFRY will deliver the work in two phases. The first covers tender-stage engineering and procurement support, whilst the second includes detailed design, construction supervision and other project delivery services.

The project will add renewable power capacity and support Himachal Pradesh’s clean energy and energy security goals.

The Thana Plaun Hydropower Project is expected to be completed in 2032.
