Chris van Gend named as AGCS Singapore's head of engineering, Asia Region

According to a release, on November 18, Chris van Gend will become new Regional Manager Engineering Asia for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS). In his new role, Chris will be responsible for AGCS Engineering Underwriting across the Asian Region and will be based in AGCS’s Singapore office.

Prior to joining AGCS, Chris was Head of the Asia Pacific Hub for Catlin’s Energy and Construction lines of business, responsible for the development, management and underwriting of the Onshore Energy & Construction portfolios in Asia Pacific.

During his nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Chris held a range of underwriting roles in Australia and Singapore, including energy, construction and marine.

The company already insures a wide range of Engineering risks in the region, supporting clients in many sectors including construction, renewable energy, power and utilities, oil and gas, heavy industries, major heavy civil engineering and infrastructure projects, and transportation systems including rolling stock.
