Tata Power unit bags 600MW hybrid project in Karnataka

It will be commissioned within 24 months from the effectivity of the PPA.

TP Saurya Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, was given a “Letter of Award” by the Solar Energy Corporation of India to develop its 600-megawatt (MW) hybrid wind and solar power project in Karnataka.

In a statement, Tata Power said its subsidiary was awarded the project through tariff-based competitive bidding, followed by an e-Reverse auction.

"We are enthused with the win of the 600MW hybrid project for SECI as it reaffirms Tata Power's commitment to building a sustainable ecosystem for transitioning towards a greener future. Renewable hybrid projects are a game changer in India as they can generate round-the-clock power with high-reliability levels to help meet the country's decarbonisation goals," Tata Power CEO and Managing Director Praveer Sinha said.

The project is expected to commence operations within 24 months from the execution date of the power purchase agreement.

The awarded project brings Tata Power’s renewable capacity to 5,524MW, with a 3,634MW installed capacity, and 1,890MW under various implementation stages.
