PGE’s journey of utilizing geothermal energy to produce electricity began in 1974 with the exploration and exploitation activities by Pertamina upon the discovery of 70 geothermal points in Indonesia. In 2006, PGE was established to pass the baton of geothermal energy development and management for the purpose of producing clean energy that is both economically and environmentally friendly.
