China State Grid mulls over 13 ultra-high voltage transmission lines in 2015

It may cost more than CNY300b.

Based on media reports, China State Grid is planning 13 ultra-high voltage transmission lines for next year.

According to a research note from Maybank Kim Eng, it may involve a total investment of more than CNY300b.

Furthermore, it also plans to complete construction of 27 transmission lines by 2020.

We think this is positive for wind-farm operators as we expect it could help with electricity transmission to other regions and lower wind power curtailment.

We believe beneficiaries include: Longyuan (916 HK), Huaneng Renewables (958 HK) and Datang Renewable (1798 HK).
