Myanmar, Russia ink deal for nuclear energy cooperation
They will work together on deploying small nuclear power plants.
Myanmar and Russia signed an Intergovernmental Agreement to collaborate in the use of nuclear energy particularly on the installation of small nuclear power plants.
The agreement was signed by ROSATOM Director General Alexey Likhachec and Myanmar’s Union Minister for Science and Technology Myo Thein Kyaw, ROSATOM said in a statement.

"This agreement is the cooperation not only for the Small Nuclear Power Plant but also the applications of nuclear technology in multi sectors and it will enhance socio-economic development of the country. " - said the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The parties added that the agreement was a logical step in continuing their stong relationships and building a foundation for future cooperation.
