Sarawak Energy triumphs at Asian Power Awards 2024 with five major wins

Sarawak Energy celebrated a remarkable achievement at the Asian Power Awards 2024, securing five prestigious titles during the ceremony held at the Conrad Centennial Singapore on October 22. The event, which gathered energy leaders from across the region, recognised Sarawak Energy’s continued leadership and innovation in Malaysia's power generation sector.
Leading the Sarawak Energy delegation at the awards were Group CEO Datuk Haji Sharbini Suhaili, SESCO CEO Lau Kim Swee, Murum HEP Station Manager Nurfaizal Bin Wahi, Senior Manager for SESCO Asset Management Selamat Wong, Senior Manager for Operational Excellence Lee Yau Kei, and fellow colleagues from Murum HEP, Generation Central Services, and ICT. Their presence at the ceremony highlighted the company’s collective effort to excel in delivering sustainable and innovative energy solutions.
Sarawak Energy was honoured with five awards, including Power Utility of the Year - Malaysia, Smart Grid Project of the Year - Malaysia, Innovative Power Technology of the Year - Malaysia, Power Plant Upgrade of the Year - Malaysia, and Hydro Power Project of the Year - Bronze. These recognitions reflect the company’s significant strides in energy efficiency, technological advancement, and sustainability.
Datuk Haji Sharbini Suhaili expressed pride in the team's accomplishments, emphasising that the awards showcase Sarawak Energy's dedication to delivering reliable and sustainable energy for the region.
