Alternergy, Denmark energy consultant to develop two onshore wind projects

K2M will support Alternergy in the procurement processes of the two wind power plants.

Philippine-based renewable energy company Alternergy Holdings Corporation (Alternergy) has signed with Denmark-based energy consultant K2 Management (K2M) for the development of two wind power projects.

The onshore projects are the Tanay Wind Project in Rizal and the Alabat Wind Project in Quezon.

Under the owner’s engineer (OE) contract, K2M will deliberate alongside Alternergy into the sector’s procurement processes, from construction management to design reviews, from site management to quality control measures.

Board members from Alternergy’s counterparts, such as Alternergy Tanay Wind Corporation (ATWC) and Alabat Wind Power Corporation (AWPC), have expressed approval of the contract to K2M after a viable selection process participated by six companies.

Currently, Alternergy has sped up the development of the Tanay and Alabat Wind Projects through its success under the Green Energy Auction 2 (GEA 2) and simultaneous finance activities to secure $215.9m (PHP 12b) funding. In November, it signed with GSIS for $26.1m (PHP 1.45b) of Alternergy’s Perpetual Preferred Shares 2 Series A through a private placement.
