India surpasses renewable energy target
India added a capacity of 10,431MW against a target of 9,623MW from renewable energy sources for the last three years.
The total installed capacity of power generation from renewable energy in the country now stands at 26,920MW.
Although state-wise targets for the power generation from renewables are not fixed, Tamil Nadu topped the list by producing 3113 mw, followed by Gujarat 2,389 mw, Rajasthan 1930 ,mw, Maharastra 1,699 mw, Karnataka 1,394 mw and Andhra Pradesh 408 mw.
