Pakistan gets Turkish help to set up power units

A 10-member delegation from Turkey comprising three experts from three prominent government organizations  arrived in Pakistan to assist in developing new energy projects.

The Turkish experts would help prepare feasibility studies for a local coal power station, a number of small hydroelectric sites and a wind-based power project. The visit is part of Turkey's commitment to support the government of Pakistan in developing power generation projects.

The organizations the experts represent are the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency, the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works and the Turkish Electricity Generation Co. Inc.

The delegation met directors of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade and department of mines and energy.

PBIT has arranged field visits for the delegation, to coal mines, hydro power sites and potential wind corridors to fully assess the resources.
