PSPCL to buy from NTPC's proposed thermal project

 

 

PSPCL will purchase power from NTPC's proposed thermal power project in Punjab, India.




The coal-fired power plant will generate 2,640MW of electricity and will be developed at a cost of US$3.2bilion, according to Business Standard.

 

The plant, comprising four units of 660MW each, will be entirely funded by NTPC or National Thermal Power Corporationand at least 50% of power generated from the plant will be allocated to Punjab.

 

Punjab has conveyed an in-principle clearance for about 9.3 million m² of land and 125 cusecs of water for the project.

 

PSPCL or Punjab State Power Corporation will also provide all the reports for the studies, including an environment impact assessment conducted at the site for the preparation of a feasibility report.
