Renova bags 20-year VPPA for solar power

This will involve 18 MW of solar energy.

Japan's Renova, Inc. has announced that its subsidiary, Second Solar Power G.K., has entered into a 20-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with a domestic client to sell environmental value from new solar plants with a total capacity of 18 megawatts.

In a statement, the company said the non-FIT non-Fossil certificates derived from small-scale, distributed solar photovoltaic power plants will be given to the client.

Generated electricity will be sold to the wholesale electricity market.

The VPPA covers an annual electricity production of around 38 gigawatt-hours. The commercial operation date will be achieved sequentially.
