Jordan, Israel, UAE tie up to advance Project Prosperity

The countries seek to develop clean energy and sustainable water desalination.

The governments of Jordan, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have entered into an agreement to advance clean energy and sustainable water desalination. 

The memorandum of understanding is linked to Project Prosperity, which has two components: Prosperity Green and Prosperity Blue.

Prosperity Green includes the development of a 600-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant and electric storage in Jordan for export to Israel.

Prosperity Blue, meanwhile, covers the development of a sustainable water desalination program, located in Israel, to export to Jordan 200 million cubic meters of potable water annually.

Moreover, the MoU provided for the conduct of feasibility studies for each of the projects.
