Pacific Hydro gets permits for 555MW of projects in Victoria and Queensland

It can now commission technical studies and analysis on the two projects.

Planning permission has been granted to two of Pacific Hydro’s solar projects in Victoria and Queensland. Together, the projects have 555MW of capacity that could power 300,000 homes.

According to an announcement, Prairie Solar Farm is a proposed 240MWac project located near Mitiamo in northern Victoria that received planning permission 14 January. The Clarke Creek Solar Farm is located north of Rockhampton in Queensland which received a Material Change of Use permit for the 315MWac project.

Pacific Hydro Australia CEO Rachel Watson said that involving key stakeholders and communities from the very beginning is as important to Pacific Hydro’s success as technical and financial factors.

Pacific Hydro can now commission detailed technical studies and analysis to progress both projects.
