Adani unit’s 700MW hybrid power plant goes online

It now has the largest operating renewables portfolio in India.

Adani Group’s renewables arm, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), has started the operations of its fourth wind-solar hybrid power plant with a 700-megawatt (MW) capacity located at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

In a statement, AGEL said the operation of the world's largest wind-solar hybrid power plant brings its operating renewable portfolio in the country to 8,024 MW, making it the largest in the country.

The operation of the plant composed of 600 MW solar and 510 MW wind plants raises its hybrid portfolio to 2,140 MW, remaining to be the largest in the world.

AGEL said the plant has a power purchase agreement at $0.04 (Rs 3.24) per kilowatt-hour for 25 years.
