Octopus Australia secures Flow Power for $900m Blind Creek project
Blind Creek will have 300 MW solar and 243 MW/486 MWh battery.
Octopus Australia has secured Flow Power as a foundational offtake partner for its $900m Blind Creek Solar Farm and Battery project.
The Bungendore project will combine 300 MW of solar with a 243 MW/486 MWh battery, enabling clean energy to be stored and delivered during peak evening demand.
Flow Power’s early commitment provides financial certainty and supports the introduction of an innovative firmed offtake model.
Developed with local landholders, Blind Creek uses an agri-solar model allowing sheep grazing while producing enough electricity to power more than 120,000 homes—reducing emissions equivalent to taking 200,000 cars off the road annually. Its DC-coupled hybrid design maximizes efficiency and grid support during high-demand periods.
Construction is underway, creating up to 300 jobs at peak, with ongoing employment once operational. Octopus Australia is working with EPC contractor GRS and Wärtsilä Energy Storage on the battery system.
