AGL Energy kicks off construction at Silverton wind farm

The $450m 200MW farm will be the largest in New South Wales.

AGL Energy has started building the 200MW Silverton Wind Farm in north-west of New South Wales.

Project manager Adam Mackett said the construction of the $450m project will creat up to 150 jobs at the peak of construction. It is slated to be NSW's largest wind farm, with 58 GE 3.43-130 wind turbines. It is expected to generate an estimated 780,000MWh of green energy per year, powering around 137,000 Australian homes.
