JRE’s wind, solar farms go online

The wind farm has a 48,000kW capacity, whilst the solar plant has 54,235kW.

The Japan Renewable Energy Corporation (JRE) has started the commercial operations of the Oritsumedake South 1 Wind Farm and Satsuma Solar Power Plant.

The JRE Oritsumedake South 1 Wind Farm located in Iwate started operations on 14 January. It has a capacity of 46,800 kilowatts (kW) and can generate around 105.7 million kWh of electricity annually.

Meanwhile, the JRE Satsuma Solar Power Plant started operations on 11 January in Kogashima. It has a capacity of 54,235kW and can produce an estimated electricity of 64.8 million kWh.

JRE has a total capacity of over 886,101kW, with more than 790,300kW in operation, and around 95,800kW under construction. It operates solar, onshore and offshore wind, and biomass power generations.
