The programme will also focus on funding hydrogen applications for decarbonisation.
The governments of Australia and the United Kingdom have announced a joint funding call to speed up the development of green hydrogen projects, with the programme to be launched in October.
In a statement, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water said both countries will fund Australian and British firms to collaborate on research, development or demonstration projects on green hydrogen.

This will also focus on renewable hydrogen applications to decarbonise industry and transport.
The department said the partnership is part of the Australian Government’s initiative to partner with other countries to establish supply chains and attract investment in clean energy technologies.
Australia and the UK entered a clean energy partnership agreement in 2021.
