Energy storage solutions fuel net-zero transition
These advanced solutions are reshaping energy use in various sectors.
New energy storage technologies are rapidly transforming how industries manage renewable power, speeding up the path to net-zero emissions, according to GlobalData.
Latest breakthroughs, such as sodium-ion batteries, which lower costs and improve safety, and ultra-fast charging systems for electric vehicles (EVs), are reshaping energy use in automotive, aerospace, residential, and commercial sectors, the report said.
“Energy storage technologies are emerging as a cornerstone for the global shift to renewables, addressing critical challenges of intermittency and grid stability,” said Saurabh Daga, project manager of Disruptive Tech at GlobalData.
He added that advanced solutions such as solid-state batteries and sodium-ion alternatives are not just enhancing traditional lithium-ion systems, but are also delivering significant gains in safety, lifecycle, and cost efficiency.
“As industries from automotive to aerospace adopt these innovations, the potential to significantly reduce energy costs and cut greenhouse gas emissions becomes a tangible reality,” said Daga.
