CIP unveils Southerly Ten platform for offshore wind development in Australia
It also bagged two licences for projects that could deliver 4.4 GW of electricity.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) launched a dedicated platform company that will specialise in developing offshore wind projects in Australia, after securing two offshore wind feasibility licences from the government.
In a statement, CIP said the platform Southerly Ten, whose first two projects include the Star of the South and Kut-Wut Brataualung, will be led by Australian Executive Charles Rattay who also serves as the CEO of the Star of the South project.

“Southerly Ten will make a significant contribution to Australia’s green energy transition while bringing economic and job opportunities to the regions,” Rattay said.
CIP, through Flagship Funds, was awarded its first offshore wind feasibility licence covering two projects, with one covering an area of 586 square kilometres, and the other of 689 square kilometres.
The two projects could deliver up to 4.4 gigawatts of energy, meeting the demand of 2.4 million homes.
