EDF Renewables acquires Australian offshore wind project

It is proposed for the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone.

EDF Renewables in Australia has completed the acquisition of the Newcastle Offshore Wind Farm.

In a statement, Dave Johnson, CEO of EDF Renewables in Australia said the initial project developers of the wind farm will continue to work with EDF and the partnership will be scaled up to meet the demands of the project.

“It's always top priority for us to make sure the community and region benefit from our work and those benefits are clear, far‐reaching, and impactful for the entire community," Johnson said.

Located near the Port of Newcastle and energy transmission networks, the project, which is under development, is proposed for the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone under the NSW Government Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.
