Worldwide Holding Berhad’s 1,200 megawatt Pulau Indah combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Malaysia has started operation.
The plant is located approximately 60 kilometres from the Malaysian capital city, Kuala Lumpur. It features two blocks of GE Vernova HA combined cycle equipment, and can energise 2.5 million homes.
According to GE Vernova, the two 9HA gas turbines have high ramp rates and fast start up times to help meet fluctuating demand. In addition, the HA unit can burn up to 50% by volume of hydrogen when blended with natural gas.
