Neoen, SmartestEnergy ink four-year PPA for Culcairn Solar Farm

This will commence in late 2026.

Neoen has signed a power purchase agreement with SmartestEnergy for 50% of the output from the former’s 440 megawatt-peak (MWp) Culcairn Solar Farm in New South Wales (NSW).

According to Neoen, the four-year contract will take effect in late 2026, the same year the solar farm is expected to become operational.

The Culcairn Solar Farm, located on Wiradjuri land in NSW's Riverina region, will be Neoen's second-largest solar farm globally, following the 460 MWp Western Downs Green Power Hub in Queensland. Upon completion, it will generate enough electricity to power 160,000 homes.

In addition to the PPA, the solar farm has a long-term energy services agreement secured through the Australian Energy Market Operator Services' tenders under the NSW Government's Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap. This agreement guarantees the solar farm a minimum fixed price for its electricity.
