Qatar aims to reach 4 GW of renewable energy by 2030

The country also targets to cut its generation cost by 15%.

Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) launched the country’s National Renewable Energy Strategy which aims to reach four gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030.

Under the strategy, Qatar also wants to reduce its generation cost by 15% as part of the energy transformation.

The country also targets to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions intensity by 27% by 2030.

Kahramma will also implement a target of 200 megawatts for distributed renewable energy generation during the same period.
