Vena Energy starts construction of largest onshore wind project in Fukui Prefecture
The Nimaida Wind Power is expected to be completed in 2026.
Vena Energy held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 50-megawatt (MW) wind project which is set to be the largest onshore wind asset in Fukui Prefecture.
In a statement, Vena Energy said the Nimaida Wind Project wind project in Fukui City will comprise 12 wind turbines which could provide energy to 26,500 Japanese households annually.

The project is also expected to cut around 57,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions yearly.
Targetted for completion in 2026, the project is a collaborative effort amongst residents, industry experts, and government officials who aim to foster sustainable development in agriculture, forestry and regional economies.
“This project will contribute to Fukui Prefecture’s GHG reduction target of 28% reduction by FY2030 (compared to FY2013) and accelerate Japan’s Green Transformation (GX),” said Raul Rienda, Head of Japan, Vena Energy.
