AES starts $1B expansion of Phillipine power plant

AES Corp will soon  double the capacity of its of 600MW Masinloc coal-fired facility in Zambales, Philippines.

 

Andrew Horrocks, official of the US-based AES,  revealed that the company was in the process of getting an environmental compliance certificate for the $1billion project.

The company also expects to receive other permits next month.

In the first phase of the project AES Corp will construct a 300MW coal plant, which is expected to be complete by 2015, as it intends to double the existing capacity of the facility.
