New Japanese solar plant to add 475 MW

TeraSol to build photovoltaic power plant on the island of Ukushima.

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has granted TeraSol GK approval to build a 475 MW photovoltaic power plant.

Electricity produced from several sites will be fed into an internal grid network and delivered to Kyushu Electric Power via a high-voltage direct current submarine cable.

TeraSol expects the project to be connected to the grid by 2015 at the earliest. The plant is currently being developed by Germany-based Photovolt and local partners.
