Masdar opens Azerbaijan office

It is located in the capital city of Baku.

Abu Dhabi-based Masdar has opened its office in Azerbaijan in its capital city, Baku, to support the country’s renewable energy development.

In a statement, Masdar said it will work closely with the government and other stakeholders in the country to boost its renewable energy sector.

“The opening of our new office in Baku is a testament to Azerbaijan’s increasing focus on renewable energy and Masdar’s growing global portfolio, which we have pledged will reach 100 GW by 2030,” said Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi.

The country aims to source 30% of its installed power capacity from renewables by 2030.

Masdar is developing the 230-megawatt Garadagh Solar PV Plant in Azerbaijan. It also signed joint development deals for onshore wind, solar, and integrated offshore wind and green hydrogen with a total capacity of four gigawatts (GW) which form part of Azerbaijan’s renewable energy programme with a total of 10GW capacity.
