TNB, Petronas partner for hydrogen business development

The parties signed a Joint Feasibility Study Agreement.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Petronas signed a joint feasibility study agreement to collaborate on business development in the hydrogen sector.

In a statement, TNB said the collaboration will help address the challenges in decarbonising the energy industry.

This will also support the company’s goal to achieve net zero by 2050 as TNB explores hydrogen and ammonia co-firing in its generation assets.

TNB and Petronas earlier signed a memorandum of understanding to work together on developing a business venture in green hydrogen.

"This agreement serves as a testament to our unwavering dedication to uniting industry players and forging a powerful synergy. Together, we are committed to exploring and developing business ventures in the promising field of green hydrogen," TNB President and CEO, Dato' Indera Ir. Baharin Din.
