SJVN to strike deal with Uttarakhand for 200 MW solar power

It involves the purchase of generation from the 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Project.

SJVN has received an arrangement with Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) for the purchase of 200 MW power from its 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Project.

Located in the Rajasthan state, the project is being managed by SGEL, a subsidiary of SJVN, under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) scheme at a tariff of $0.031 per unit. The accumulated energy will be used by local Uttarakhand agencies or distribution companies (DISCOM).

The proposed power purchase agreement will support achieving solar RPO targets and reducing power shortages.
