Tata Power obtains Bikaner-Neemrana Transmission Project

It will facilitate the transfer of 7.7 gigawatts of renewable energy.

Tata Power has acquired the Bikaner-III Neemrana-II Transmission Limited Project after winning the bidding process led by the Ministry of Power.

In a statement, Tata Power said the transmission facility, a project special purpose vehicle set up by the Power Finance Corporation’s subsidiary PFC Consulting Limited, costs $XXX (INR1,544 crore) and will start operations within 24 months from the date of transfer.

The transmission project will transfer 7.7 gigawatts of renewable energy from the Bikaner Complex in Rajasthan through the around 340 kilometres of transmission corridor that will be established from the Bikaner-III pooling station to the Neemrana II substation.

Tata Power is mandated to maintain the transmission project for 35 years.
