Aboitiz Power unit's oil-fired plant disconnected from grid

The facility has been completely isolated.

Aboitiz Power Corporation has announced the disconnection of the 44.640 megawatt (MW) Naga Oil-Fired Power Plant located at the Naga Power Plant Complex in Naga City, Cebu.

In a bourse filing, the company said it was informed by its subsidiary, Therma Power-Visayas, Inc. (TPVI), of its receipt of a letter from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines confirming the disconnection of the facility.

Aboitiz Power said the 0.440 MW Black Start Diesel Engine Generating Unit was also disconnected from the grid.

TPVI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aboitiz Power through Therma Power Inc., acquired the Naga Power Plant Complex from its previous operator, Salcon Power Corporation, in 2018. Since then, TPVI has undertaken extensive rehabilitation, operation, and maintenance of the facility.
