Neoen’s 540 MWh battery project commences operation in Australia

This is located near a solar farm.

Neoen Australia has commenced operation of its 270 megawatt / 540 megawatt-hour battery energy storage project in Queensland.

In a statement, the company said stage 1 of Western Downs Battery “has completed all construction and commissioning works and is ready to support its multiple virtual battery customers, including AGL, ENGIE AU & Shell Energy Australia.”

This project is located near the towns of Dalby, Miles, Tara, and Chinchilla. It's situated right next to Neoen’s 460 MWp solar farm, which is already up and running. Additionally, an equally sized battery storage system, representing stage 2 of Western Downs Battery, is currently under construction at the same site.
