HD Renewable Energy and Lightsource bp sign deal for 115 MWp solar power
The project is located in a fishery in Taiwan.
HD Renewable Energy (HDRE) subsidiary Star Trade has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Lightsource bp for a 115 megawatt-peak fishery solar project located in Chiayi, Taiwan.
In a statement, HDRE said the fishery solar farm officially broke ground in June 2025. It is projected to generate up to 180,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy a year.
Under the PPA, Star Trade will manage the full offtake and sales of the solar project's energy output.
"Project Budai marks a significant milestone in our development in Taiwan and showcases Lightsource bp's expertise in aligning global strategy with local progress. We are pleased to sign this PPA with Star Trade to help Taiwan's businesses achieve their carbon reduction goals,” said Bin Fu, head of Taiwan at Lightsource bp.
