Vietnam Electricity and LS Electric discuss energy cooperation
The parties shared latest developments in their power-related initiatives.
Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and South Korea’s LS Electric recently held discussions to look into possible programmes for the development of the energy sector.
According to EVN, Dr. Koo Ja-Kyun, chairman of the board of LS Electric, shared the company’s ongoing research and deployment of solutions focused on smart grids, information technology applications, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence to enhance the efficiency of power system operations.
The company also shared their plans for developing various technologies, such as high-voltage direct current transmission technology, and battery energy storage systems. LS Electric is also working with its partners to develop small modular reactor solutions for distributed grids, data centers, and low-emission targets.
Meanwhile, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An said that the company continues to prioritise building a modern power system as it implements the revised Power Development Plan VIII. It is also looking into solutions supporting renewable energy development, energy storage systems, smart grids, and the application of technollogies to enhance national grid management and operation.
