Posh Electric to conduct sodium-ion battery trial

POSH will deploy a 1-megawatt-hour sodium-ion BESS to manage solar intermittency.

Posh Energy's subsidiary, Posh Electric (POSH), has been awarded a grant from the Energy Market Authority to conduct a trial of a sodium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS).

POSH will lead the development and deployment of a 1-megawatt-hour sodium-ion BESS to manage solar intermittency.

The BESS will integrate 600 kilowatts of rooftop solar arrays to store renewable energy, providing load-shifting capabilities and mitigating the intermittency of solar power.

This is in partnership with the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research of Singapore, and Utraco, at Utraco's factory.
