This marks the commencement of information exchange between the partners.

PT TPI (Thorcon Power Indonesia) and the PT PLN NP (Nusantara Power) have signed deal for the development and planning of the Thorcon 500 nuclear power plant project in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

In a statement, the companies said the memorandum of understanding marks “the beginning of information exchange between the two parties.” This will involve exchange of technical information such as comprehensive evaluations of technology, safety, operational studies, and reactor design, as well as general information such as cooperation scheme options, financial and commercial studies.

“PT TPI and PT PLN NP will exchange information and prepare a report to create transparency around PT TPI’s nuclear power plant development plan. The report is intended to support Indonesian governmental stakeholder decision-making,” said Dwi Hartono, Director of Business Development and Trade at PT PLN NP.
