GPSC acquires additional stake in Thai gas power plant
This will expand the plant’s equity capacity of 131 MW.
Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC) has acquired an additional 9.375% stake in Ratchaburi Power Company Limited (RPCL), increasing its ownership from 15% to 24.38% in the gas thermal project.
GPSC CFO Panporn Sasananan said the share transaction agreement will increase investment proportion in RPCL, an independent power producer with an installed capacity of 1,400 megawatts (MW), utilising natural gas as its primary fuel.
The ownership stakes were originally held by Chubu Electric Power Company International B.V. (Chubu), fully owned by JERA, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC).
The RPCL share acquisition is to expand the equity capacity of 131 MW, in accordance with GPSC’s shareholding proportion.
