India’s wind sector hits record 6.05 GW capacity addition in FY25/26
The country’s installed wind power capacity has crossed 56 GW.
India achieved its highest-ever annual wind capacity addition of 6.05 gigawatts (GW) during the financial year 2025 to 26, an increase of nearly 46% year on year, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said.
In a press release, the ministry said the country’s installed wind power capacity has crossed 56 GW.
Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra states have been the primary contributors to capacity addition during the year.
