Danantara Indonesia centralises waste-to-energy projects under PT Denera
The new holding structure consolidates investment, development, and operations into one platform.
Danantara Indonesia has established PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (PT Denera) as a holding company for waste-to-energy (WtE) projects across the country, effective 1 April 2026.
In a press release, the company said the move aligns with Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025 on urban waste management through conversion into renewable energy using “environmentally friendly technology,” with the programme targeting the development of WtE facilities in several cities.
PT Danantara Investment Management has set up PT Denera to consolidate investment, development, and operations for waste-to-energy, or Pengolahan Sampah menjadi Energi Listrik, projects.
The company will act as the holding entity for project-specific Badan Usaha Pengembang dan Pengelola vehicles formed with selected consortium partners.
The structure is intended to enhance project management efficiency and align investment and operational activities under a single platform.
It will also serve as the vehicle for partnerships with domestic and international investors and for technology transfer in integrated waste management.
Pandu Patria Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia, said the holding structure is designed to strengthen institutional arrangements for integrated waste management and improve governance and coordination with partners.
Sjahrir said PT Denera will act as a catalyst for integrated upstream waste management and manage various types of waste.
Further updates on the company and project progress will be issued through official channels.
