Vikram Solar hits 10-GW milestone amidst push into 39-country export drive
The company is also expanding into energy storage through VSL Powerhive.
Vikram Solar has crossed 10 gigawatts in cumulative global solar module deployments, equivalent to over 25 million solar modules.
Powering over 5 million Indian homes, the company has doubled its deployments from 5 GW in two years, according to a press release.
Whilst a majority of deployments are in India, the company has expanded its global footprint with approximately 1.5 gigawatts of exports across 39 countries.
The group has built 9.5 GW of module manufacturing capacity across West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, with a 5-GW facility in Vallam, Tamil Nadu.
As part of its backward integration strategy, the Gangaikondan site will scale up to include 6 GW of modules and 12 GW of cell capacity.
The company is also expanding into energy storage through VSL Powerhive, with a planned 5-gigawatt-per-hour battery energy storage system facility by 2027.
