Pacific Energy to power AU's Northern Territory with 81-MWh battery storage deployment
It won the contract to deliver the next phase of Territory Generation's BESS programme.
Pacific Energy has secured a contract to deliver the next phase of Territory Generation’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Programme, according to a press release.
It involves the deployment of utility-scale battery systems across the Alice Springs and Darwin–Katherine power grids, targeting a combined capacity of 33.5 megawatts of power and 81 megawatt-hour of energy.
Once operational, these systems will provide essential frequency and voltage control services, whilst the Alice Springs installation will maintain system stability during both minimum and peak demand fluctuations.
The agreement covers end-to-end delivery of the systems—including design, manufacturing, supply, installation, and integration—supported by a 10-year service agreement.
