Baseload Power Taiwan, CPC ink deal to expand geothermal projects
Initial focus will be the Tuchang geothermal project in Yilan County.
Baseload Power Taiwan and CPC Corporation, Taiwan have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate geothermal development across Taiwan.
The agreement focuses on cooperation in resource evaluation, feasibility studies, technical collaboration, due diligence, and commercial structuring.
The first project under review is the Tuchang geothermal site in Yilan County.
Both parties will also explore potential joint investment models to scale geothermal development nationwide.
Taiwan is prioritising geothermal energy as part of its energy transition and decarbonisation strategy.
Baseload Power Taiwan has operated in Taiwan since 2019 and is involved in multiple geothermal projects, leveraging experience from Japan, Iceland, and the United States.
