Azure Power signs EoI to develop 1,700MW RE projects

The projects will be developed in Karnataka, India.

Azure Power has signed an Expression of Interest (EoI) with the government of Karnataka to develop renewable energy projects that will add some 1,700-megawatts (MW) capacity.

The EoI, signed during the Windenergy 2022 event, has a total investment commitment INR13,300 crore. It will cover wind, solar, and hybrid renewable energy projects.

“We are extremely pleased to sign the EoI with the Government of Karnataka. The state has been at the forefront of clean energy adoption and has one of the highest installed renewable energy capacities in the country,” Pawan Kumar Agrawal, CFO, Azure Power, said.

“This EoI strengthens our commitment to develop high performing grid-scale renewable energy assets in the state and contribute towards India’s decarbonization journey.”

Azure Power currently owns and operates close to 2900MW of renewable energy assets across India.
