AMPIN Energy Transition achieves financial closure for 200MWp Rajasthan project

Over 435 million units of solar energy will be generated annually.

AMPIN Energy Transition has secured a $89m green loan from Standard Chartered for the 200 megawatt-peak (MWp) Solar-Wind Hybrid project in the state of Rajasthan in India.

“This collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank supports our vision of driving the renewable energy transition and transforming the energy landscape in India,” said AMPIN Energy Transition MD & CEO Pinaki Bhattacharyya.

This loan brings the total investment for this project to around $113m.

Upon completion, the solar-wind hybrid plant is expected to generate about 435 million units of renewable energy annually that can power around 74,486 households. The project will also eliminate over 7,166,223 tonnes of carbon per year.

The electricity generated from this plant will be supplied to Solar Energy Corporation of India under a 25-year power purchase agreement from the start of operations.

AMPIN Energy Transition currently operates a 410 MWp solar portfolio in Rajasthan. With the addition of the 200 MWp project, the company’s cumulative solar and wind energy portfolio in the state will reach 1 GWp.
